What fond memories do you have of teenarama?:
Thinking back to that time of my life and being part of "Teenarama Dance Party", WOOK TV still excites me. That was a very special and fun time that will always hold a special place in my heart. It was awesome meeting all the different entertainers. Getting to meet and dance with other teens from all the other schools was fun as well. I am honored to be part of "Teenarama Inc." and continue to help with the development & achievement of our youth as part of our mission.

What fond memories do you have of teenarama?:
What a pleasure it was to dance on The Teenarama Dance Party, it is an experience that lives on within my heart. I could hardly wait to get out of school and dash up to WOOKTV. What inspired me to dance on the Show was the creativeness of the dances performed by the teens and the unity of all students from across the District/Metropolitan area coming together on one accord. All we wanted to do was dance and have fun. We were up close to the performing artist and met a few of them personally. WOW!<br />

As Vice President, I want to pass on this legacy to our youth to educate them through the history of music and dance of the 1960s shared through our experiences. We were Teens in the 1960s; in the year of 2000 plus we consider ourselves as Senior Teens.<br />

I enjoyed being a part of the Teenarama Dance Party, WOOK-TV, as a Regular from 1963-1965. It was a wonderful experience. I enjoyed the Miles Long Sandwich Commercial segment and always tried to be chosen on the days when the sandwich was one of my favorites. It was wonderful to personally meet the entertainers and celebrities of that era. Bob King nicknamed me, “Pretty Pat” and we would tease and say he was my mother’s real brother (because they looked like they could be related) so that made him my Uncle Bob. I really wish there was footage of the shows but it is great that quite a few of us still have our black and white photographs among our memorabilia to hallmark this time. Thanks for the memories and I appreciate the friendships that were formed during those years.

The Teenarama Dance Party, Wook-TV reminded me of Soul Train back in the day.

What fond memories do you have of teenarama?:
Being apart of the Teenarama Dance Party, Wook-TV, I enjoyed co-hosting the show for Bob King. As a Regular, I Rated the Records, the Miles Long Sandwich Commercial, meeting and chatting with several entertaining celebrities, getting acquainted with other dancers, and being televised six days a week from the show. I also felt like a celebrity star of the show. My sister, Carolyn and I couldn't wait to leave school, took two buses, and walked across a big field near Takoma Park, Riggs Road, and Chillum area to get the show before and after becoming Regulars on the show. My family and friends couldn't wait for the show to come on and later on, they would informed me what I was wearing. I was nicknamed, Christie/Christy Love, Ms. Boogaloo and/or Christine, the Dancing Machine. I just wished there were still footages of the show from back then. We had to climb a hill near the back door of the show, formed a line to get into the show after the Regulars. But in all, I enjoyed every minute of it. Since then, I've won several dancing, modeling, singing, and talent contests.

Being a part of the Teenarama Dance Party was such an exciting, memorable experience in my life as a young teenager. I will never forget when Bob King, the talk host created my nickname of "Little Bits" and it stuck with me for quite a while.

As President of Teenarama Inc., I am so proud to be a part of the development of this website.

Teenarama Dance Party was truly a source of pride and joy in my life during the sixties. Now it is an honor to hold a seat on the board of this organization.

As the Public Affairs Officer, I personally thank everyone who has helped us in so many ways to raise funds needed to provide scholarships for students in the arts.

The Teenarama Dance Party provided an outlet in 1964 for me to meet and dance with other students in the Washington-metropolitan area. It helped shape my goals to know that there were so many opportunities available to me that I never envisioned. So, it is a pleasure to serve as Executive Secretary of Teenarama, Inc. that has as its primary purpose to assist in providing financial scholarships to youth to achieve their dreams and aspirations.
